This is the answer we give ourselves every day to avoid dedicating ourselves to those boring and tiring activities that, however, need to be done from time to time, like cleaning the shower!
A few simple steps and you can finally say "I did it!" and keep your shower always looking new.
HOW TO CLEAN (THE ENTIRE) SHOWER
Remove limescale and soap residue
Limescale is the number 1 enemy of everything that has to do with water, like the shower.
There are numerous anti-limescale products of natural origin that eliminate the calcium carbonate that forms on the walls and in the shower head. We suggest one that will make the anti-limescale operation quick and natural:
For standard cleaning of the shower tray we instead suggest (no rinsing required so it's one less job to do!) and the that helps eliminate the limescale halo that regularly forms on the crystal walls of the shower enclosure, creating a film that facilitates water sliding and helps delay the formation of limescale.
Rinse the walls and tray with water; a manual shower head is perfect for this operation. Spray the product on all surfaces that need anti-limescale cleaning, let it act, rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth that leaves no residue.
Tip: get a squeegee! It will help you clean water stains on the walls more easily and make them shine
Clean the shower head
Often, due to limescale formation, the shower head has clogged holes and, inevitably, water has difficulty coming out.
The homemade method in this case is functional and does not damage your shower head: soak it in hot water and vinegar for an hour then rinse thoroughly.
If at the end of this operation some holes are still closed, use a needle to open it.
Unclog the drain
How much material accumulates in the drain? A lot, but there is a solution for this too.
Open a metal wire hanger or use a thin and long object, such as a crochet hook. Unscrew the drain plug or simply insert the tool into the grate, depending on the shower model installed in your bathroom. Pull out the hair and debris that clog the drain and throw them away; continue this way until the drain is working perfectly again.
Tip: perform this task weekly to prevent the pipe from getting clogged
Pour a drain cleaner product. You can opt for a commercial solution or prepare a homemade one by diluting 60 ml of ammonia in one liter of boiling water (warning! Ammonia is often corrosive so we recommend avoiding it as much as possible. It's better to use specific products).
Pour the liquid down the drain to dissolve any remaining obstruction.
Tip: Use drain cleaner once a month to prevent serious clogs.
Rinse with very hot water. Turn on the tap and let hot water flow down the drain; if it backs up, repeat the previous steps to remove the obstruction.
